I too had wondered if there would be an issue with offline/online characters with the same name but figured I'd get a prompt if there was a problem. I of course never thought to check previously so have no idea if this is a new fix for having online/offline characters with the same name or not. I created a new offline Shea, saved, quit, checked storage and there is now a file for him there. I loaded up the other offline character and checked shared storage, and it includes stuff I had JUST put in there with the missing Shea. I looked in storage for saved files and see that there is a 'shared storage' file as well as a file for another offline character that I had started, but not one for Shea. This afternoon I quit out of the game instance, closed the application, restarted the PS4 and now my offline "Shea" is completely gone. Played the offline character for a few days, 'save and quit' a few times but not sure if I ever completely shut down the application. Got tired of having a newly generated map every time I reloaded/lost connection and a few other issues so started an offline "Shea". Initially started an online character "Shea" and got to around lvl 21 or so. Playing on PS4 here, just completely lost an offline character, found this while looking around for similar occurrences. Seems to me if you can't have online and offline characters with the same name, the game should indicate that and prevent you from doing that. They look like the online character because of the time stamp of yesterday and because of the file name with the "o" at the end of the filenames.
ctlo of 0 bytes and one RavenDeth.keyo of 3KB. I do have that character in saves but I assume it's the online one with no data because it's only 2 files while my all new offline character has five files saved for it. Woke up and the offline "RavenDeth" was no more. So, it showed online and offline "RavenDeth" characters. It didn't and happily created my offline character. I figured if it wasn't allowed it would throw an error. Wasn't my connection and I had created an online character "RavenDeth".īecause I couldn't get in an online game, I decided to play an offline game and I named my offline character "RavenDeth". I initially couldn't play online because of a server issue. I looked in there and I think I know what my issue was with this.
